CALHOUN CIRCUIT COURT PROCESSES CASES

Calhoun Circuit Court was in session this week, with several cases processed, according to Prosecutor Nigel Jefferies.

Lazlo Nemeth was set for sentencing for his conviction for Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm. The defendant failed to appear. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Ronald Leo Huffman was set for entry of a plea. The defendant did enter a plea of guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver and Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm. Sentencing is scheduled for a later date.

Jarred Nicholas was set for entry of a plea. The defendant did enter a plea of guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver. Sentencing is scheduled for a later date.

Ryan Williams and Tiffany Davis were set for a pretrial status hearing. A trial date was scheduled for June 8, 2021.

Victor Carpenter's sentencing was continued until May.

Billy Ray Hardway was set for sentencing upon his convictions for Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Judge Anita Ashley imposed a term of incarceration of an indeterminate term of not less than one (1) nor more than five (5) years in the penitentiary to run consecutive to a six (6) month sentence in the regional jail.

Christopher Lamp was set for a pretrial hearing. Trial is set for April 20, 2021.
