| Forest fire season is beginning its rampage.
The Grantsville VFD responded to a lawnmower fire threatening the woods about 2:45 p.m. Monday, about two miles east of Grantsville on a hillside. The West Virginia forester responded to the call.
Late afternoon Roane County fire departments responded to a fire call on Long Ridge (Ambler Ridge), reports saying the incident was triggered by a car fire which spread to the woods, those reports indicating three structures were on fire. |
