TUESDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT - 341 NEW CASES, 15 DEATHS

State health officials reported 15 new coronavirus-related deaths and 341 new virus cases Tuesday in West Virginia.

Active cases continue to decline and were down 38, with a total of 5,176.

The state’s cumulative positive test rate also continued to inch down and was at 5.32%, a slight decline from 5.33%. The daily positive test rate dropped from 5.48% to 3.21%.

Hospitalizations as of Monday were up 14 from the previous report on Friday and were at 165, with 51 in intensive care and 22 on a ventilator. Recoveries were at 128,297.

On the county alert map, one county – Hardy – moved to red. The map continued to be dominated by green with 33 counties in that color. Seven counties were in orange, eight in gold and six in yellow.

As for vaccinations, 246,568 have been fully vaccinated in the state and 392,736 have received their first dose of a COVID vaccine.
