Randall "Bear" Kenneth Yoak, 67, of Grantsville

(02/23/2021)
Randall "Bear" Kenneth Yoak, 67, of Grantsville, passed away at his home on February 15, 2021.

He was born on March 20, 1953, the son of Judson K. and Elenore (Bush) Yoak. From an early age, he resided with his paternal grandparents, John M. and Martha (Starkey) Yoak, of Grantsville.

He graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1971. In the early 70’s he served in the US Air Force.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Department of Highways, Jack Foraker Timber Company and Donald P. Gunn. In later years he was a truck driver for Waste Management. Many might remember him driving Grantsville’s trash truck. Bear never met a stranger. His infectious laugh and sharp sense of humor were among some of the attributes that made him a fixture of his community. If seen out and about, he would always have something to say to those he passed. Known for giving people a hard time, never was it done with more love.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Sherry Yoak of Chicago IL; step-mother, Sue Yoak of Barboursville; three sisters, Linda (Danny) Fulmer of St. Marys, Janet Skidmore of Cutler OH, and Teresa (John) Ball of Barboursville; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Bear is also survived by his long-time significant other, Donnetta K. Yoak.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Cremation services are being provided by Stump Funeral Homes, Grantsville. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
