Billy D. McHenry, 86, of Gassaway

Billy D. McHenry 86 of Gassaway, WV; departed this earthly life on the morning of Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center in Grantsville, WV; following an extended illness.

He was born August 10, 1934 in Tanner, WV, son of the late Raymond and Mary Kemper McHenry.

Billy is a graduate of Harrisville High School, Class of 1952. He is a veteran of the United States Army having served for 22 years and later in life worked as a carpenter in the construction industry. In his spare time, Billy enjoyed spending time with his loving wife and family, traveling the world, and living the quiet life in West Virginia.

On September 10, 1975 Billy was united in marriage to Sun Nam Lee McHenry who survives at their home in Gassaway.

Surviving is his daughter, Yumi Allen of Roanoke, VA; and 2 grandchildren, Anthony Allen of Little Birch, WV; and Erica Allen of Lexington, KY.

Along with his parents, Billy is preceded in death by 5 siblings, Robert McHenry, Anne Ferguson, 1 infant sister and 2 infant brothers.

A graveside service will be conducted at the Horn Creek Baptist Cemetery near Cox’s Mills, WV; at 12:00 Noon, Friday, February 19, 2021 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating.
