TUESDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT: Calhoun Is Last County To Have COVID-19 Death, 228 New Cases |

| The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported four deaths and 228 new COVID-19 cases in statistics updated Tuesday morning, leaving the state with 2,216 deaths and 128,117 cases. The deaths confirmed by the DHHR included a 78-year-old Berkeley County man, a 77-year-old Kanawha County man, a 76-year-old Raleigh County woman and a 64-year-old Webster County man. The death is the first reported in Webster County and leaves Calhoun County as the only one with no deaths linked to the virus. With profound sadness, we share this tragic news of more lives lost to COVID-19, DHHR Secretary Bill J. Crouch said. We join the families in mourning the passing of these West Virginians. As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the DHHR reported 2,072,362 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19. In addition, the dashboard showed 321 people remained hospitalized, two more than on Monday, with 80 in intensive care, two fewer than on Monday. The DHHR also reported that 252,098 people had received the first of two COVID-19 vaccination and that 144,250 had been fully vaccinated against the virus. The statewide cumulative percentage of positive tests was 5.55 percent and the daily percentage was 3.18.
