OFFICER SHOOTING - An officer-involved shooting in Raleigh County on Monday has resulted in one man being dead.

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded Monday night to a home in Shady Spring to serve a domestic violence protective order when a male suspect got a shotgun and pointed it at the deputies.

According to a news release from the office, a deputy fired at the suspect and struck him in the chest. Deputies said the suspect then turned the gun on himself and was deceased at the scene.

The victim’s name is not being released or other details until completion of an investigation by the sheriff’s office and the West Virginia State Police.
