MONDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT - 424 NEW CASES

The DHHR reported four COVID-19-related deaths Monday as the state added 424 new positive cases over the past 24 hours.

There are currently 20,615 active cases in the state – a number that has been consistently decreasing over the last week.

Hospitalizations also continued to decrease Monday, moving from 456 to 438. Intensive care admissions were also down from 128 to 118. The number of patients on ventilators decreased by 13, moving from 61 to 48.

The overall positive test rate inched up slightly from 5.61% to 5.62%. The daily positive rate also increased from 6.49% to 8.03%.

There have been at least 98,782 COVID-19 recoveries in West Virginia.

As for vaccinations, 68,391 residents have been fully vaccinated in West Virginia. The state has received 179,900 first doses and has administered 194,488 of them, due to additional doses in vials. West Virginia has received 98,500 second doses of the vaccine and has administered 68,392 of those doses.
