DEATH FROM INJURIES IN VEHICLE CRASH RT. 16 NORTH SUNDAY NIGHT- Mudslide On Russet Rd

UPDATE- Reports indicated that at least one person died in a vehicle crash in a Sunday night accident, going over an embankment on Rt. 16 north. The Herald has been unable to get official confirmation of the man's identity, likely available on Facebook. 2021-02-01 A vehicle accident on Rt. 16 north in the greater Big Springs area, likely near Bowser Road was reported about 10 p.m. Sunday. First reports indicated the driver or a passenger was seriously injured and unconscious. The vehicle was over the embankment. Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Dept. responded. No other information available. A mud-rock slide fell onto Rt. 7 (Russet Road) about one mile from Grantsville. A vehicle reportedly struck a tree near the slide Sunday afternoon. The Grantsville VFD responded to the incident.
