SATURDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT: 1,341 NEW CASES, SEVEN DEATHS

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed 1,341 new COVID-19 cases and seven additional deaths in its report on Saturday.

The DHHR confirmed 1,597 new cases and 20 deaths on Friday.

The report from the DHHR stated that as of 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020, there have been a total of 1,447,287 (+11,381) laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 80,177 (+1,341) total cases and 1,253 (+7) of those cases resulting in deaths.

The DHHR has confirmed the deaths of a 70-year old female from Jefferson County, a 68-year old female from Cabell County, a 91-year old male from Cabell County, an 87-year old male from Cabell County, a 66-year old female from Cabell County, a 63-year old male from Jefferson County, and a 77-year old female from Preston County.

According to the DHHR’s COVID-19 dashboard, there are currently 24,629 (+769) active cases and 54,295 (+566) recovered cases in the state.
