THREE CALHOUN ELECTED OFFICIALS HONORED FOR SERVICE

During Monday's Calhoun Commission meeting, three elected officials were recognized for their service to the county.

Calhoun Sheriff Jeff Starcher after a four-year term, ending a high standard for himself and three deputies, all graduates of the WV State Police Academy, and answering record numbers of calls by the sheriffs department.

Prosecutor Shannon Jones Johnson returned to her native Calhoun to serve as a full-time prosecutor for eight years, after years of efforts to fill the position locally.

Calhoun Commissioner Scottie "Chip" Westfall retired from the commissioner's position after serving for twelve years, saying "I had to re-learn that the county has been able to do so much with so little."
