COVID-19 WV FRIDAY CASES: 942 NEW CASES, 17 DEATHS

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed 942 new COVID-19 cases and 17 additional deaths.

New cases are posted for Calhoun, and most regional counties.

The DHHR announced 1,233 new COVID-19 cases and 20 additional deaths on Thursday, which also included the death of a Preston County resident.

The report from the DHHR stated that as of 10 a.m. on Friday, December 11, there have been a total of 1,283,407 (+18,078) laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 60,637 (+942) total cases and 938 (+17) of those cases resulting in deaths.

The DHHR has confirmed the deaths of a 71-year old female from Greenbrier County, a 75-year old male from Putnam County, a 92-year old female from Greenbrier County, a 90-year old female from Preston County, a 77-year old male from Wood County, an 80-year old male from Mineral County, a 77-year old male from Mineral County, a 78-year old male from Brooke County, an 86-year old male from Wood County, a 75-year old male from Kanawha County, an 80-year old male from Kanawha County, a 72-year old female from Boone County, an 83-year old male from Kanawha County, an 86-year old female from Putnam County, a 42-year old male from Raleigh County, an 87-year old female from Jackson County, a 64-year old male from Cabell County, a 70-year old male from Cabell County, a 38-year old female from Cabell County, and a 59-year old male from Hancock County.

According to the DHHR’s COVID-19 dashboard, there are currently 19,971 (-189) active cases and 39,728 (+1,114) recovered cases in the state.
