Harley Lane Wilson, 75, of Elkview

Harley Lane Wilson age 75 of Elkview WV departed this life on the morning of Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the Hubbard Hospice House West in South Charleston, WV following an extended illness.

He was born October 28, 1945 in Sand Fork WV son of the late Lowell and Eva McCullough Wilson.

Harley is a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1965 and an Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver for over 30 years having retired from UPS in 2010. In his spare time, Harley enjoyed metal detecting, camping, and keeping a clean car.

On January 26, 1980 Harley was united in marriage to Ruby Heath Wilson who survives at their Elkview home.

Surviving are 2 children, Rebecca Jones (Kirk) of Texas and Daniel Wilson of West Virginia; 4 grandchildren, Derrick, Kirsten, Trenton, and Raquel, 1 step-son Rick Bigley (Elizabeth) of Richmond VA; and 4 step-grandchildren, Jessica Olivia, Rahanon, and Wynn.

Also surviving are 4 sisters, Jeane Groves of Clarksburg WV, Patricia Crouch of West Union WV, Judy Snider (Larry) of Flatwoods WV, and Carol Anne Goodrich (Dallas) of Normantown WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with his parents, Harley is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles and Gary Wilson and a step-daughter, Joanna Bigley Griffith.

In accordance with the mandates set forth by the State of West Virginia, masks or some kind of facial covering must be worn inside the mortuary establishment and social distancing must be observed.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary and Cremation Services, Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville WV at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020 with Rev. Bill Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Stalnaker Cemetery in Glenville. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary in Glenville.
