| A 25-year-old woman is among the 20 most recent COVID-19 deaths in West Virginia, the state Department of Health and Human Resources reported Wednesday morning.
The stateâs death total associated with the coronavirus is now at 778.

The state also reported 1,087 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 49,905 since the start of the pandemic. There are 17,125 active cases in the state.
Hospitalizations increased from 595 Tuesday to 622 Wednesday. There are 164 being treated in intensive case and 88 on a ventilator.
The stateâs cumulative positive rate also continues to rise and is at 3.69%, up from 3.67% Tuesday. The daily positive percentage rate also increased from 6.07% Tuesday to 6.60% Wednesday.
