TUESDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT: 358 NEW CASES, CALHOUN HAS ONE NEW CASE TUESDAY

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 11 new COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday, including four from Jefferson County.

This raises the state’s COVID-19 death total to 469 since the start of the pandemic.

According to WV DHHR, Calhoun has one new case Tuesday.

West Virginia added 358 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, for a total of 25,593 cases.

The state’s active case total is at 5,507, which is slightly lower than Monday.

The overall positive test rate slightly increased from Monday to 2.96%. The daily rate decreased to 3.99%.

There are currently 271 residents hospitalized with the virus, including 83 people in intensive care and 35 on ventilators.
