MONDAY COVID-19 UPDATE: 352 NEW CASES - 27 Cases Church Outbreak

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed 352 new COVID-19 cases and one additional death in its report on Monday.

The DHHR announced 423 new cases on Sunday.

The report from the DHHR stated that as of 10 a.m. on Monday, November 2, there have been a total of 792,475 (+6,853) laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 25,235 (+352) total cases and 458 (+1) of those cases resulting in deaths.

The DHHR has confirmed the death of a 71-year-old woman from Grant County.

According to the DHHR’s coronavirus dashboard, there are currently 5,557 (+141) active cases and 19,220 (+209) recovered cases in the state.

An outbreak has been reported at a church in Kanawha County. According to the Kanawha Charleston Health Department, Maranatha Baptist Church in Sissonville has 27 cases between the church and the daycare. It was discovered that some of the people sickened were not wearing masks.

Five COVID-19 cases have been confirmed at four Kanawha County schools during the past two days.
