ARNOLDSBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT PLEADS FOR VOLUNTEERS - Expresses Appreciation For Tanker Funding

(10/27/2020)
Dear Calhoun Citizens,

The officers and members of the Arnoldsburg Vol. Fire Dept. would like to thank Congressman Alex Mooney and staff for their assistance in obtaining our recent USDA Rural Development grant.

The congressman was kind enough to write a letter of support for our endeavor. We would also like to thank Virginia McDonald and Alan Harris of the USDA for their assistance. This funding will be used to purchase a much needed pumper/tanker that will replace two aging trucks.

This new truck will not only be a major asset to the Arnoldsburg fire district, but it will also benefit surrounding areas by providing assistance to neighboring departments.

Although we have a new truck on the way, we need something else - members.

Volunteer departments all over the state are suffering due to lack of able-bodied members. I ask the citizens of Calhoun County to support the county’s three fire departments both financially, and physically.

Without these departments, many people will not be able to even afford home owner’s insurance.

Our departments provide vital life and property-saving services that the county desperately needs.

Please contact your local fire department to ask how you can help.

We are proud not only of our departments, but also the citizens we serve.

The citizens of Calhoun county always go above and beyond to help their neighbors.

Thank you for your continued support.

Asst. Chief, Joe Tanner
