CALHOUN CLERK SAYS EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING STARTS OCTOBER 21 - Absentee Voting Still Open

Calhoun Clerk Jean Simers says early voting will begin in the Old Jail Building office in Grantsville on Wednesday, October 21st. Early voting will be from 8:00 to 4:00 p.m. each day.

Early voting will also be open in the Old Jail Building on Saturday, October 24th and Saturday, October 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Beginning January 1, 2018, voters must show a valid form of identification to vote in-person during an Early Voting period or on Election Day in any federal, state, municipal or special election. For more information, please see W. Va. Code § 3-1-34 or visit the Secretary of State’s website at sos.wv.gov.

Voters must not have any election promotion materials such as masks, t-shirts, hats, and flags, within 100’ of the early voting precinct.

If you are unable to vote at your assigned voter precinct, voters are encouraged to either participate in early voting or vote an absentee ballot. Applications for absentee ballots will be accepted until October 28, 2020. Call the County Clerk’s office at 304-354-6725 to receive an application.
