Edith Florence McCumbers, 93 of Spencer WV departed this life Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Miletree Center in Spencer.
Edith was born February 20, 1927 in Nicut WV, the daughter of the late Thomas A. McCumbers and Edna E. Hardway McCumbers. Prior to moving to Spencer, she was a lifetime resident of Glenville WV where she lived with her mother. She enjoyed drawing and collecting fifty cent pieces. Above all else, she loved God and her family. She was always a devout Christian and always had a close relationship with God and her beliefs. She was a long-standing member of the Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by brothers, Preston Virgil and Rondle Lee McCumbers Sr. and sisters, Velma Faye Norman, Thelma Gay Low and Vera Maye Cottrill.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. in Glenville WV, Sunday, October 11, 2020. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., with the funeral at 2:00 p.m. with President Thomas McClung, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. Burial will follow at the Meadow Lane Cemetery, Glenville.
