SUNDAY WV COVID-19 - 190 New Cases

Clo Health officials in West Virginia confirmed two more COVID-19 deaths Sunday while the state added nearly 200 new cases.

The additional deaths are a 70-year-old woman and 72-year-old man from Kanawha County, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. There have been 334 virus-related deaths since the pandemic began.

Officials also confirmed 190 new cases, raising the state’s active total to 3,854. There have been 15,398 total cases since the pandemic began.

The overall positive test rate remained at 2.74% while the daily positive test rate came in at 2.40%.

Virus-related hospitalizations dropped from the previous day, down five to 169. There are currently 53 residents in intensive care and 26 on ventilators, both totals are also down from the previous day.

At least 11,160 West Virginians have recovered from the coronavirus.
