About 12:45 a.m. 911 dispatched the fire department to Bull River Road off State Rt.5 East.

The report said a man fell over an embankment and needed assistance to get back to his residence.

At 2 a.m. the Grantsville VFD responded to a mutual assistance call from Wirt County to Umstead Ridge.

The report said a cabin was on fire.
