WAR IS IMMINENT - America Will Go On Highest Alert, Hussein Threatens War Around The World

(03/17/2003)
Diplomacy has ended.

Another vote in the UN was not sought.

War with Iraq is imminent.

President Bush will speak to the nation tonight at 8 p.m.

Inspectors and the press have been warned to leave the country. Inspectors are leaving early Tuesday morning, Iraq time.

The United States will do a pre-emptive strike without the approval of the United Nations, and with little support from the world community.

The initial attack will be from the air, involving several thousand missiles with bombs.Almost 300,000 troops are in the Gulf.

Bush says only one move is left to avert war - Saddam Hussein leave the country.

Hussein said Sunday if Iraq is attack he will take the war anywhere in the world "wherever there is sky, land and water."

The United States contends Iraq has failed to comply with disarmament Resolution 1441, unanimously passed last November.

America will go to the highest warning for terrorist attacks.

While most Americans support the President and our soldiers, the country is divided about the war, mostly along party lines.
