(09/11/2020)
Calhoun County is now averaging more than 10 active cases of COVID-19 over a rolling 14-day period putting the county in the ‘orange’ designation on the COVID-19 county alert map.

Calhoun Schools will increase several new protection measures, going from green to orange.

The change in designation for Calhoun County came when new numbers were released by the state Department of Health and Human Resources Thursday morning.

Calhoun County joins Pocahontas, Kanawha, Putnam, Fayette, Monroe, Mingo, Logan and Wayne counties in the ‘orange’ category. Monongalia County is the only county rated “red.”

The DHHR confirmed 209 additional COVID-19 cases Thursday bringing active cases to 2,856. The state also confirmed three additional deaths including an 80-year old male from Kanawha County, a 90-year old female from Kanawha County, and an 88-year old male from Kanawha County.
