(09/10/2020)
Updated COVID-19 Numbers as of Sept. 8, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. and Calhoun County sees large jump in COVID-19 cases.

Parkersburg, WV September 8, 2020 - Since our last press on Friday, COVID-19 cases across the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department’s (MOVHD) six county region has continued to climb with increases in Calhoun, Roane and Wood Counties while Pleasants, Ritchie and Wirt Counties positive cases did not increase.

In addition, the total number of recovered cases have continued to grow across our region and we are glad to acknowledge we have had no new COVID-19 related deaths either.

Again, MOVHD would like to remind communities, that as schools and extra-curricular activities will be starting to be aware of the risks when travelling to and from school, while attending sporting events or other group functions and settings. To keep the number of cases as low as possible, it is important to wear a mask, social distance and use good hand sanitizing. If your student is not feeling well, they should not be sent to school that day or be out among the public.
