David Woodrow Epling, 77, Spencer

David Woodrow Epling, 77, a lifelong resident of Spencer WV, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Lakin State Hospital in West Columbia after an extended illness.

Born June 4, 1943, David attended Bartlett School. He loved to hunt deer and could often be heard singing his favorite songs. David is fondly remembered for his playful orneriness and teasing of his nephews and nieces.

Surviving are nieces and nephews, Susan Burfield and L.D. Epling, children of Larry and Burldena Epling and John Lowe, Candace Lowe Eidson, Kimberly Lowe Shirley, children of David and Phyllis (Epling) Lowe.

David was preceded in death by his parents, John Woodrow and Marjorie (Townsend) Epling; brother, Larry D. Epling; sister, Phyllis Epling Lowe; nephew, Eric Lowe; and special love Valorie.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the graveside service for David, on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the Little Creek Baptist Church Cemetery near Spencer. Rev. Loren Price, Pastor of the Spencer Tabernacle will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that an act of kindness be given to those in need.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is assisting the family with arrangements.
