MINGO CO. TESTS POSTIVE COVID-19: CHILDREN 3, 7, AND 15 - Numerous Younger Adults Test Positive

Mingo County health officials reported nine new COVID-19 cases over the weekend, including a 3-year-old boy, a 7-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy.

The Mingo County Health Department said in a news release the latest cases brings the total case count for August in the county to 82. For July, the total was 130 confirmed cases and June had 17 confirmed cases.

The other confirmed cases over the weekend were a 73-year-old woman, a 58-year-old man, a 26-year-old man, a 42-year-old woman, a 35-year-old woman and an 88-year-old man.

Health department officials said they are working to notify all those who were identified as being a close contact and are being instructed to quarantine for 14 days.

As of 9 a.m. Monday, Mingo County has tested 3,462 and has had 229 laboratory tested positive cases. There were 3,233 negative cases. Currently, there are 59 active cases and 165 have recovered. The county has had five COVID-19-related deaths.
