MT. ZION COMMUNITY PARK NEEDS DONATIONS - Ox Roast Biggest Fundraiser Canceled

Mount Zion Community Park

Dear Neighbor,

We hope this letter finds you and your family safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pandemic has changed the way we live in many ways and has caused some long-held traditions to be put on hold as a safety precaution, including the annual Mt. Zion Community Park Ox Roast.

Members of the park board recently made the difficult decision to cancel what would have been the 61st annual ox roast because of ongoing crowd-size limitations and health and safety concerns.

The ox roast is the park’s largest fundraiser and raises funds for utility payments, lawn mowing, and park maintenance throughout the year.

Because this year’s ox roast is cancelled, the park is requesting monetary donations for park upkeep and to help fund a successful and larger ox roast in August 2021. Donations of any amount will be appreciated, and the park board will recognize all donors in a news article.

Donations can be mailed to Calhoun Banks, C/O Sandy Weaver, P.O Box 430 Grantsville, WV 26147.

Thank you for your support of the Mt. Zion Community Park.

Sincerely,

Mt. Zion Community Park Volunteers
