FLO LAUGHLIN STARCHER - Spencer

Flo Laughlin Starcher, 81, of Spencer died Tuesday, March 11, 2003 following an extended illness.

She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Lewis and Lovie Townsend Laughlin. She was a member of Otto Advent Christian Church for nearly 50 years and at her death was a member of Spencer First Advent Christian Church. She was a founding member of Otto Senior Citizens, member of Roane General Hospital Auxiliary and had served as president of both organizations. She was active in Blue Grass Riding Club and was a strong supporter of the Clover community. She was employed at Kellwood Company for four years and was a homemaker.

She is survived by two brothers, Brice and Gene Laughlin, both of Arnoldsburg; one sister, Florence Hall of Arnoldsburg; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and ex-daughter-in-law, Patricia Wayne of Spencer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Starcher; four brothers; and two sisters.

Service is 2 p.m. Friday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Mike King and Rev. Darius Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Otto Cemetery.
