PM SUNDAY: 139 NEW WV COVID-19 CASES SUNDAY

State health officials in West Virginia confirmed 139 total coronavirus cases Sunday.

West Virginia added 73 COVID-19 cases in the state Department of Health and Human Resources’ evening update in addition to the 66 confirmed Sunday morning. The total of active cases moved to 1,689.

The state’s overall positive test rate moved from 2.27% to 2.28% while the daily positive test rate ended at 3.01%.

Of the total cases, 82 residents are currently hospitalized. Thirty-five West Virginians are currently in intensive care and 11 are on ventilators.

At least 4,168 residents have recovered from the coronavirus.

No virus-related deaths were reported during the weekend.
