PM TUESDAY: 57 NEW WV COVID-19 CASES

West Virginia’s positive coronavirus cases increased another 38 Tuesday afternoon, bringing the daily total to 57 more cases.

The state Department of Health and Human Resources said the state had a total of 5,199 cases as of 5 p.m.

Active cases were down 17 from Tuesday morning’s report and were listed at 1,552. There has been a total of 3,546 recoveries.

More than 240,000 have been tested for the virus with an overall positive test rate at 2.16%. The daily positive test rate was at 1.77%.

Hospitalizations remained at 77, with 33 in intensive care and 16 on a ventilator.
