PM FRIDAY: 126 NEW WV COVID-19 CASES

West Virginia’s coronavirus cases rose a total of another 126 cases Friday, and the state’s overall positive test rate continued to climb and was at 2.15%.

The US had a record one day high of 73,000 new cases. The state Department of Health and Human Resources said in a news release the state had a total of 4,783 cases as of 5 p.m.

No new deaths were reported, and the total remained at 100.

Active cases declined by 14 from the previous day and were listed at a total of 1,416. According to the DHHR’s website, there have been 3,267 recoveries.

More than 222,000 tests have been conducted. The state’s daily positive test rate was at 3.12%.

Hospitalizations were listed at 69, with 37 in intensive care and 15 on a ventilator.
