Ila Clarice George, age 79 of Bull Fork Road, Big Springs, WV (Tanner Community) departed this life on the morning of Saturday July 11, 2020 at her home following an extended illness.She was born November 25, 1940 in Greenbrier County and is the daughter of the late Sonnie and Henrietta Crosier Neff. Ila was full time homemaker who loved caring for her family. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, mowing her grass, general yard work, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible. Ila was a Baptist by faith and member of the Sewell Valley Baptist Church in Greenbrier County. On December 24, 1956 Ila was united in marriage to Charles F. "Charlie" George who preceded her in death on December 20, 2008. Surviving are 8 children, Linda George of Tanner WV, Virginia Price of Tanner, Raymond George of Elizabeth WV, Robert George and wife Dedra of Sand Fork WV, Frank George of Hurt VA, Tim George of Evington VA, and Dennis George and Christopher George both of Tanner. Also surviving are 4 siblings, Nancy Blenden and husband Jim of Rainelle WV, Pasty Pack of Old Hickory TN, Inez Neff of Rainelle, and Gerald Neff and wife Patricia of Rainelle; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of other wonderful family and friends. Along with her parents and husband, Ila is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Buster and Clyde Neff. A graveside service will be conducted at the Meadow Lane Cemetery along Route 5 West of Glenville, at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 15, 2020 with Pastor Larry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow services in the cemetery. Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. is honored to assist the family of Ila Clarice George with arrangements. |
