The Lights on Newspaper class have five members, they are Brandon Carpenter, Nekka Pinson, Richard Hodo, Tyler Bennett, and Tyler Francis. Their instructor is Jenna Jett.

We have class every Monday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. We intend to write articles about the Lights On! program and instructors at Arnoldsburg.

We will learn to use a digital camera and try to type.

Student Brandon Carpenter hopes to write good articles. Nekka Pinson hopes to learn to do interviews and learn more about newspapers. Tyler Bennett wants to learn to use the digital camera and be an undercover reporter. Tyler Francis and Richard Hodo hope to learn the same things as Tyler Bennett. Teacher Jenna Jett thinks these boys may have a future as private eyes. She also hopes to give the students some help with grammar, writing, and listening skills. Stay tuned for exciting news from the Arnoldsburg's Newspaper Class!

An Interview with Mr. Cosgrove
Arnoldsburg Lights On! Newspaper Staff

On March 3, 2003 Richard Hodo, Tyler Bennett and Tyler Francis interviewed Mr. Cosgrove in his Lights On! office. Mr. Cosgrove told us he had been in education for seven years, three years as a military instructor and four years at Anoldsburg Elementary School. Mr. Cosgrove says that he loves being a teacher. We wanted to know his favorite sport. It happens to be Ping Pong. We also wanted to know if he liked animals- he answered "of course I like animals". His favorite colors are pink and green. All of the newspaper staff think it is odd that pink is one of his favorites. Mr. Coscrove's favorite part of Lights On! is giving kids the opportunity to learn and experience new adventures. He got involved with Lights On! to provide people with new experiences they may not get otherwise.

Prior to moving to Calhoun County he lived in Connecticut for 20 years. When we asked why his family chose Calhoun, he said "it's a great place to raise kids." Lastly when asked what he misses about Connecticut he said his mom.

We think that Mr. Cosgrove enjoys his job and likes this area very much- we are glad he chose to move here and be a teacher.
