Roger Lynn Starkey, 66, formerly of Spencer

Roger Lynn Starkey, 66, of Barberton, Ohio, formerly of Spencer, died Monday, June 29, 2020, at Hospice of the Western Reserve, Cleveland, Ohio.

He was born June 29, 1954 at Ravenna, Ohio, the son of the late Homer Isaac Starkey, Jr. and the late Betty Eloise Husk Starkey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, David Allan Starkey and Roger Lynn Starkey, Jr.; two brothers, Harley and Gary Starkey; and sister, Debbie Starkey.

Roger was a retired laborer. He was a 1972 graduate of Spencer High School and an Army veteran.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Starkey of Reedy and Debbie Starkey of Spencer; son, Roger Allan Starkey of Akron, Ohio; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three brothers, James, Larry and Danny Starkey; four sisters, Carol Young, Cathy Sayre, Pam Greer and Barbara Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5 at Clover Cemetery, Clover, with Preacher Jerry Saunders, Jr. officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the West Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard.

There will be no visitation.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
