GREENBRIER COUNTY CHURCH COVID-19 OUTBREAK HAS 41 ACTIVE CASES

(06/23/2020)
The Greenbrier County Health Department reported it has had seven more positive cases of COVID-19 and now has a total of 41 active cases related to a church outbreak.

Across America, about a dozen states are experiencing new highs with the virus.

“Please continue to be vigilant about social distancing, wearing masks while in public and washing your hands frequently,” the health department said in a Facebook post Monday morning.

The Graystone Baptist Church in Ronceverte has been identified previously as the church where multiple people have contracted the virus.

The county health department said it has had a total of 51 virus cases since the start of the pandemic with 10 of those cases being fully recovered.

State health officials have said there have been virus outbreaks at six churches in six counties in the state.

The cases in three of those counties – Greenbrier, Boone and Ohio – were still active. They are considered resolved in three other counties – Jefferson, Hampshire and Marshall.
