PM SUNDAY: 43 NEW COVID-19 CASES IN WV

State health officials confirmed 43 new coronavirus cases Sunday, raising the number of active cases in West Virginia to 778.

The overall positive test rate in the state remained at 1.69% while the daily positive test rate for the day was 1.84%, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.

Twelve states have hit daily virus records, with cases up 15% in the US during the past two weeks.

Two WVU football players have the virus.

26 residents of Preston County have the virus, linked to Myrtle Beach travel. Across America, the number of cases are reaching new highs in a number of states.

A new Calhoun case announced last week by the MOVHD is not yet on the state summary.

At least 1,676 West Virginians have recovered from the virus.
