CHS TEAM IN "SCORES" COMPETITION - Seventeen Students Participate

Calhoun High School sent a team of seventeen students to the 25th annual SCORES competition at Marshall University this past weekend. SCORES is a set of academic competitions that test students from West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky and give students an opportunity to check out the Marshall University campus and campus life.

Deva Murphy places second in nursing

Deva Murphy earned a silver medal, second place, in the nursing competition. Her competition was a written test, while some of the others participated in mock trials, crime scene investigation, newspaper reporting and writing a commercial for a product.

The students making up the Calhoun team: James Bailey, Matt Bonar, Ryan Bremar, Ashley DeWeese, Laura Hall, Leah Harold, Melissa Hartshorn, Zach Houchin, Chelsie Hupp, Sarah Lynch, Jamie McKown, Deva Murphy, Derek Roberts, Kelley Sampson, Barb Shock, William Weaver and Pat Wildfire with Mrs. Sharon Pitts, the faculty sponsor.
