PM MONDAY: WV COVID-19 REPORT

West Virginia added eight new positive COVID-19 cases to its total Monday afternoon, and the state’s positive test rate remained below 2%.

The state Department of Health and Human Resources said in a news release the state had a total of 2,161 cases as of 5 p.m.

No new deaths were reported, and the total remained at 84.

More than 113,600 tests have been given, with a positive test rate of 1.90%.

Of the positive cases, 2,089 are confirmed and 72 are probable. There have been 1,472 recoveries, and there are 605 active cases.

The number of hospitalizations continues to go down, with 24 listed. Nine patients are in the intensive care unit and four on a ventilator.
