Calhoun County was included in 12 project recommendations by the governor, resulting in over $11 million in grants from the Appalachian Regional Council Commission Investment Program.

The Calhoun County Commission will receive $135,000 for a County Infrastructure and Improvement Plan. A consulting firm will assess and recommend opportunities to expand infrastructure in the county.

The plan will involve “assessing needs, prioritizing future projects, and making recommendations on consolidating systems to increase efficiencies in operating and maintaining systems,” the release said.

Under the area development part of the projects, the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council will receive $1 million.
