Nancy J. Conklin, age 89 of Glenville

Nancy J. Conklin, age 89 of Glenville, WV departed this life in the evening hours of Monday, May18, 2020 at the Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV; following an brief illness.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 1, 1930 to the late Edward J. and Ruth Friend Goebel.

Nancy was Catholic by faith and attended the Good Shepard Catholic church in Glenville. She worked in the service department of a Ford Dealership for many years and after retirement moved with her husband to West Virginia. Nancy and Russ enjoyed many years together camping, boating, and traveling the United States.

On September 24, 1950 Nancy was united in marriage to Russell E. Conklin, who preceded her in death on February 27, 2009.

Their union proved fruitful with four children, Kathy (Frank) Ames of Tanner WV; Maureen Place of Naples FL; Terry (Dave) Day of Portage IN and Michael (Patrice) Conklin of Southhold NY; and 1 brother, William E. Goebel of Florida.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with her husband and parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her grandson, Robin Ames and 1 brother, Robert S. Goebel.

A private graveside service will be conducted at the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery on Thursday, May 28 with Father James DeVise officiating.

Once restriction have been lifted because of the Covid-19 pandemic, a Mass of Christian Burial service will take place at the Good Shepard Catholic Church at a later date.
