| PM 5/13/2020 - The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed six new cases of the coronavirus in West Virginia, as well as an additional death caused by the virus in its evening report on Wednesday. That would make 26 cases for the day. AM 5/13/2020 -The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirms 20 new cases of COVID-19 in the Mountain State Wednesday morning, the WV-DHHR has started giving two reports daily, another to follow PM. As of 10 a.m., May 13, 2020, the WV DHHR says the state has received 66,680 laboratory results for COVID-19, with 1,398 positive cases, 65,282 negative tests, 813 recoveries and 58 deaths. These are considered official numbers reported to the state, which the WV DHHR says will be reported to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Delays may be experienced with the reporting of cases and deaths from the local health department to the state health department. As case surveillance continues at the local health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certain county may not be a resident of that county or even the state as an individual in question may have crossed the state border to be tested, according to the WV DHHR.
