Holly Jackson Murphy, 81, of Creston, died May 1, 2020, at Minnie Hamilton Health System Long Term Care, Grantsville.

He was born September 30, 1932, at Annamoriah, the son of the late Frank and Blondina Bell Murphy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Holly Jackson Murphy, Jr.; brother, Paul Murphy; sisters, Loretta Marks and Roselee Thomas.

Holly was a retired timberman. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member and former trustee of the Cremo Community Church. His pastimes included playing the banjo and listening to bluegrass music. Also, he liked to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Eula Mae Connolly Murphy, whom he married September 7, 1957 at Hur; daughters, Betty Mae Cottrell of Bellevue, Nebraska and Helen Jeannette Kellar of Creston WV; grandchildren, Adeanna Danialle Davis of Creston, Kelly Dawn Metz of Ohio and Jackson Hal Cottrell of Omaha, NB; great grandchildren, Trevor Collins, Troy Collins, Aubrey Collins, Evan Collins and Dane Holly Davis; sisters, Esther Laughlin and Judy Knotts both of Arnoldsburg, Bessie Hall of Spencer and Mildred Lockhart of Parkersburg; half-brothers, Ronnie and Robert Murphy; half-sister, Robin Murphy.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3 at Wright Cemetery, Creston, with the Rev. Jim McIntyre officiating.
