SPRING WILDFLOWERS BRIGHTEN THE DAY -Tammy's Cabot Station Home

(04/21/2021)

A crested iris that just started blooming this week. Each year go to the places where the wildflowers bloom. It's like visiting an old friend that you haven't seen for a year. I think of my biology teachers Fred Barnes and Dale Levering, both of which have passed away. I learned a lot from them, but my best teacher on wildflowers was my mother, Martha (Wright) Westfall. She took me when I was small and taught me the names of the flowers, and where they grew (she learned that from her mother). Those who taught me about the spring beauty of West Virginia are gone, but the wildflowers remain...Photo by Richard Westfall
