Sharon Louise Smith, 70, of Newton

Sharon Louise Smith, 70, of Newton, entered into rest April 27, 2020, after a long illness.

She was born October 20, 1949, at Charleston, the daughter of the late Charles William Cook and Juanita Tallman Cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sherry Lynn Smith.

Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Jarrett Lee Smith; three children, Angela Sue Drake of Newton, Lisa Dawn Smith also of Newton and Ronnie Lee Smith of Quakertown, Penn.; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Sharon was a former employee of Norris Industries, Spencer but spent most of her life as a homemaker and mother, caring for the family she loved.

She will be forever missed by her family, as well as her many friends and extended family who loved her.

There will be a private graveside service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2 at the J. Herbert Smith, Sr. Family Cemetery, Vineyard Ridge, Looneyville, with the Rev. Anthony Ferrebee officiating.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
