SERVICE UPDATE: FIRST BAPTIST CALHOUN COUNTY FOOD PANTRY SERVES COMMUNITY

(04/28/2020)

TO THE CITIZENS OF CALHOUN COUNTY - As most of you already know, The First Baptist Calhoun County Food Pantry has continued to serve the families of Calhoun County that need food. We have been open and will continue to be open every Tuesday and Thursday from 11-1 at 1500 E. Little Kanawha Highway (route 5) just before you get to Bull River.

We are still picking up food twice a week at the Walmart in Spencer, Grantsville Foodland, and Tudors. All CDC Guidelines are being followed to keep you safe. The inside of the truck as well as all boxes are sprayed with bleach when picked up, and all workers are masked and gloved as we pack our boxes and distribute our food.

If you are having difficulty affording food during this difficult time, please remember that we are here to help. We are only serving Calhoun County, and no one in need is ever turned away. We try our best to do God's work and take care of his people. We will never refuse you food if you need it.

We are discontinuing "Truck Give Out Days" until further notice, as Mountaineer Food Bank has changed their plans for distribution. Each family can receive one Emergency Box per month packed by Mountaineer; however, we will be distributing food boxes that we have packed on all days we are open. We will keep track of who has received their monthly box from us and who has not. You can continue to pick up food from us and other agencies if you need more food.

Now that the Virus has come to Calhoun County, we encourage you to follow distancing regulations. Putting 5 people in a truck to come and pick up food is not safe. Since most of you do not have masks, please wear a bandana around your face to keep you safe.
