PM WEDNESDAY: DHHR REPORTS 963 COVID WV CASES - WV Has 29 Deaths, 1% Of Americans Have Been Tested

The DHHR reports confirmed cases at 963 after the administration of 26,961 tests. The confirmed test rate is at 3.57 percent.

The state has now recorded 29 COVID-19 deaths. Jackson County has reported seven of those deaths, linked to the Eldercare facility in Ripley.

There are new cases in Wirt and Roane County.

In the USA, there is still no wide spread testing, with about 1% of Americans being tested, while the Trump administration continues to push "reopening" and back to work.

The DHHR said 18 percent of residents with active COVID-19 cases are hospitalized. There are 31 people in ICU and 23 patients on ventilators.

A fifth case of the virus in Roane was reported in Wednesdays AM report, but not included in the PM press release.
