PM SUNDAY: ABOUT 60 PATIENTS/STAFF AT RIPLEY ELDERCARE COVID-19 POSITIVE - Two Patients Died

4/19/2020 - Officials with Eldercare said eight more people associated with the nursing home have tested positive for coronavirus. Eldercare said it received nine patient tests back Sunday and five were positive, according to a news release. Four tests are still pending. Nine staff tests were returned and three were positive. More than 50 staff tests are pending. There are now 59 positive cases among patients at the nursing home, according to the news release. The facility also confirmed that two deaths previously reported in Jackson County Saturday were residents at the facility. Both patients had underlying health conditions, according to the news release. No other information on the patients was provided.
