Lillie Mae Smith, 65, of Parkersburg

(04/11/2020)
After a very long, hard fought battle from complications with her heart, Lillie Mae Smith, 65, passed away April 7, 2020, at Camden Clark Medical Center. Lillie was born April 30, 1954, at Big Springs, Calhoun County. She was a daughter of the late Albert M. Smith and Cozetta Mae (Craddock) Smith.

Lillie worked many years as a waitress, a CNA at Eagle Pointe and St. Joseph’s Hospital for 18-plus years, and she was a paper carrier for The Parkersburg News and Sentinel. Lillie loved her job, especially talking to a special customer that came out around 4 every morning to greet her. Lillie loved vegetable gardens and working with flowers.

Lillie will be sadly missed by her brother, Albert (Bim) Smith (Louanne) of Point Pleasant, WV, and her sister, Mary (Jamie) Ball of Parkersburg, WV. Lillie was loved by her nephews who referred to her as (Aunt Chunky), Joseph Smith (Tara) of Williamson, WV, Todd Smith (Amanda), Danny Ball (Lisa) and Michael Ball all of Parkersburg. One niece Jaymalea Smith of Florida. Great nieces, Brooke Stunkard (Clayton) of Pennsboro, WV and Mia Grace Ball, and great nephew, Alex Ball both of Parkersburg, WV. Great-great-nieces Emmy and Elli Mae Stunkard, great-great nephew Ryker Stunkard of Pennsboro, WV.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents and a great-great nephew Baby Baine Stunkard, who I am sure is being loved and hugged by Aunt Lillie. Also several aunts and uncles.

Per Lillie’s request, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations for Lillie’s services can be made to Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, WV. It’s not just goodbye – just see you later. For those unable to attend, please leave an online condolence or share “Hugs from Home” with the family by visiting www.LeavittFuneralHome.com.
