Stanley B. "Rex" Rexrode, 87, of Spencer, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at home, after an extended illness.

He was born May 7, 1932, at Ft. Seybert, Pendleton County, the son of the late Edward H. and Lucy C. Blizzard Rexrode.

"Rex" was a retired Sergeant with the West Virginia State Police, with 32 years of service. He served as a deputy sheriff in Roane County for ten years. Also, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. His pastimes were fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Becky L. Linville Rexrode, whom he married October 26, 1962; son, Capt. Timothy A. Rexrode, with the U.S. Navy, stationed in Japan; three grandchildren, Sam, Maya and Liz Rexrode.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer, with the Rev. Mark Wood officiating.

Military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be members of the West Virginia State Police and the Roane County Sheriff's Department.
