SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT RESCUES 17 DOGS - "Hats Go Off To Wag"

(04/02/2020)
The Calhoun Sheriffs Department went an animal rescue situation on Cadle's Run at Stinson Tuesday, rescuing 18 dogs, the owner forfeiting ownership.

The owner of the dogs had been attempting to feed them, but lacked the resources.

Sheriff Starcher said 17 dogs were taken, with 15 being placed with an animal rescue group in Gandeeville, known as AFTA, indicating the county's dog fund does not have the resources to take them to an animal shelter.

"Our hats go off to WAG," said Starcher, a local animal group that does "amazing work" in Calhoun.

The department spent several hours with the rescue situation.
